Regulations in Notion, folders in Google Drive, videos in a shared chat — this is what training looks like in almost any service network. Each tool is fine on its own, but together they don't teach: the employee simply doesn't know where anything is.
If you go to a typical service network and ask how team training is organized, you almost always get the same list. Notion with regulations. Folders in Google Drive. A few videos on YouTube. A Telegram chat for going through cases. Somewhere separately — quizzes in Google Forms. Somewhere — PDF instructions that have been lying around for five years and get updated once every six months.
A technician comes on shift and wants to recall how to clean a certain material. Where is that regulation — in Notion, in Drive, or was it a video in the shared chat three months ago? They ask in the chat, and someone answers half an hour later. By then the client has already left with a service of average quality.
what a network really needs
A service network doesn't need “an LMS like the big corporations have”: complex learning paths, gamification with ten levels, integrations with HR systems. It needs one product that gathers everything related to team training:
- Courses — short lessons organized by role: a technician and an administrator have different programs.
- Quizzes — after lessons, so that the employee recalls the material rather than only reading it.
- Certification — a final check at the end of a course.
- Certificates — with QR verification of authenticity.
- Webinars and a knowledge base — to go through new material live and quickly find a regulation right on the shift.
- Chat — inside the platform, not separately in a messenger.
- Leaderboard — simple and clear to the whole team.
One account and one entry point. Not “go to Drive, then to the chat, then to Notion”, but “open the LMS — everything is there”.
how it works in practice
A course in LMS.Knopka is built not as a lecture but as a scenario. Step 1 — a short lesson: a 3–5 minute video or text. Step 2 — a mini-quiz of a few questions. Step 3 — practice on the shift. Step 4 — a review with a mentor and certification.
No hour-long slides and no multi-hour lectures. The logic is simple: watch → answer → do → review with a mentor.
Courses are best organized by role and level. A new employee starts with a required block, while an administrator and a technician study different programs. A person doesn't drown in a catalog of 80 courses — they see what they need now.
what is different in knopka
A few things that matter specifically for a network of locations.
Certificates with a QR code. Each certificate has its own QR code, which shows that the certificate is genuine. Authenticity is checked in a second, with no calls or correspondence.
Chat inside the platform. Questions about training don't get lost among work messages in a shared messenger: the employee writes in the same place where they study.
Webinars and a knowledge base. New material can be gone through at a webinar, and the regulations live in the knowledge base — a technician finds the answer on the shift without waiting for someone to reply in the chat.
Leaderboard. You can see who is progressing and how in their training. In small teams this works as a simple and clear motivator.
A location manager dashboard. A location manager or partner sees how their team is studying: who has completed the courses and certification and who hasn't yet.
One account for all products. An employee signs in to the LMS through ID.Knopka — with the same account as in the CRM and ERP, by an SMS code or a password. For a new person an invitation by link is enough.
what we threw out
In the first version we tried “corporate” training videos: an off-screen narrator, schematic graphics, a neutral voice. Then we reshot them in a video-blog format: a specific technician at a specific location, with their own face and their own mistakes. The conclusion is simple: training should be human, not bureaucratic.
We also threw out complex gamification with experience points, badges and a “skill tree”. Service network teams respond better to simple mechanics: “completed a course — got a certificate”, “moved up the leaderboard”. Further complication gave no effect. Why this happens is covered in the article on when gamification in training works and when it doesn't.
the main idea
A service network team doesn't learn because it is motivated with fine words. It learns when the system is set up properly: a clear role, a clear path, one screen where everything is visible. Training from ten different tools looks like “we have a lot of training materials” but has minimal effect — because the employee doesn't know where anything is.
If you have several locations or teams and you want people to grow systematically, you don't need another folder in Drive. You need one product where courses, quizzes, certification, certificates, a knowledge base, chat and a leaderboard live together — like team training in LMS.Knopka. Then training becomes part of the location's work, not a separate activity for “when there's time”.
And so that knowledge doesn't fade a month after the certification, repeat checks are needed — how to set them up was covered in the article how to check that someone remembers, not that they passed a test once.
frequently asked questions
what does a service network need to train its team?
One product instead of five scattered tools: courses by role, quizzes after lessons, final certification, certificates with QR verification, webinars, a knowledge base, chat and a leaderboard.
how can I check that an employee's certificate is genuine?
Each certificate in LMS.Knopka has its own QR code — it shows that the certificate is genuine.
does an employee need a separate login for training?
No. The LMS is entered through ID.Knopka — with the same account as in the CRM and ERP, by an SMS code or a password. A new employee is invited by a link.
can a location manager see how the team is studying?
Yes. In the location manager's or partner's dashboard you can see who on the team has completed the courses and certification and who hasn't yet.
can I take the LMS without the CRM?
Yes. LMS.Knopka works on its own or together with the CRM.
